Wilma Meidinger, 77, Wishek, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at her home. Wilma was born June 30, 1937 in rural McIntosh County to Peter and Hulda (Bertsch) Hagel.
She attended school in Wishek and graduated in 1955. While attending school she worked at Maggie’s Cafe and the Herr Mercantile. After graduating, she taught school for one year in rural McIntosh County.
Wilma married Wilmer Meidinger on October 5, 1956 at the Wishek Baptist parsonage. They lived with Wilmer’s parents for the first two years of their marriage. In the fall of 1958, they moved to the Herb and Orlina Wiest farm. They farmed there for four years. In the fall of 1962 they purchased the Uncle Otto Meidinger farm. They lived there until 1998 when they retired and moved to Wishek.
Wilma was an accomplished seamstress. She sewed many Easter and Christmas outfits for her family. When she moved to Wishek she started an alteration business. She worked on many prom, bridesmaid, and wedding dresses.
Wilma was very active in the church. She sang in small groups and the choir. She also served as the Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer, and was the treasurer and member of the memorial committee for many years. She was a member of a breakfast club and the Purple Pals.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wilmer, Wishek, their children Jennifer (Edward) Peplinski, Jamestown ND, Pete (Darcy) Meidinger, Wishek ND, Kimberly (Tom) Lovik, Wishek ND, Roxane Meidinger, Fargo ND, Suzanne (Joseph) Wald, Wishek ND, and Keith (Kim) Meidinger, Zeeland ND.
Her grandchildren, Adam Meidinger, Grand Forks ND, Sara (Randy) Kollman, Fargo ND, Patricia (Justin) Finck, Lehr ND, Brandon (Whittney) Lipp, Wishek ND, Shannon (Max) Eiseman, Bismarck ND, Emily (Brad) Slade, Louisville KY, Matthew (Crystal) Lovik, Wahpeton ND, Paul Meidinger, Fargo ND, Kayla (Andrew) Ennen, Menoken ND, Kelly and Karly Wald, Lincoln ND, Kathryn and Kelsey Meidinger, Bismarck ND, Adrianna Meidinger, Fargo ND, Kaleb and Kalvin Meidinger, Zeeland ND.
Her great-grandchildren Cole and Corbyn Finck, Lehr ND, Katie and Ben Slade, Louisville KY, Cohen Lovik, Wahpeton ND, Logan, Emmitt, Garrett, and Wyatt Ennen, Menoken ND and Brody Eiseman, Bismarck ND.
Her brothers LeRoy (Carolyn) Hagel, Graham WA and Harry Hagel, Wishek ND. Her sisters Sandra (Melvin) Schilling, Wishek ND, Linda (Steve) Foerderer, Wadena MN, and Donna (Pat) Meyers, Morris MN.
Wilma was preceded in death by her son Russ, her parents, her infant sister Dianna, and son-in-law Randy Lipp.
