Viola Raile, 78, Wishek, N.D., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Medcenter One, Bismarck, N.D.
Viola Meidinger was born May 23, 1923, on a farm north of Zeeland, N.D., the daughter of Albert C. and Emma (Schwindt) Meidinger. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural school near Zeeland. She married Alvin Raile on Aug. 27, 1948, at Mound City, S.D. They then moved to Wishek. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She was a skilled seamstress. She enjoyed doing crafts and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, James A. and Jacob (Linda), both Mandan, N.D.; two daughters, Doris (Larry) Strommen, Dickinson, N.D., and Betty (Wayne) Sailer, Mandan; five brothers, Wilbert (Landina), Marvin (Deloris), and Wilmer (Wilma), all Wishek, and Edgar (Phyliss) and Ellon (Rachel), both Zeeland; six sisters, Gertrude Kaseman, Bismarck, Lorraine (Adam) Kaseman, Gackle, N.D., Arlene (Melvin) Kaseman, Bowdie, S.D., and LuElla (Delton) Davis, Alma (Walter) Rath and Alvina (Herman) Sayler, all Wishek; seven grandchildren, a stepgrandson and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, with the Rev. Don Hansen officiating.
Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. today, Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial: St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.
