Mr. Schauer was born on Sept 13, 1910 in Wishek, ND. He grew up in Elk Grove, graduating from high school there and then attended business college in Sacramento. A lifelong member of the First Congregational Church, he served as its treasurer and clerk. His family was instrumental in starting the church in Elk Grove. Mr. Schauer was married for 48 years to Pauline Foerderer until her death in 1988. Mr. Schauer is survived by his three children.
