Raymond Hauck was born on October 18, 1926 west of Tyndall on the family farm to Samuel and Emelia Hauck. He was the oldest of 5 children. He attended the Hauck Country School and finished school at the Radack Country School where he graduated from the 8th grade. From that time on he helped on the family farm with his dad and two brothers Robert and Jonas.
He met Wilma Weidenbach and after a 5 year courtship they were married March 28, 1956 at Scotland. They resided west of Tyndall on the Hauck homestead. A son John was born in the spring of 1958. In the spring of 1963 they moved northwest of Tyndall on a farm that they would later purchase and call home. The couple worked side by side their whole married life. They milked cows, raised hogs, cattle, chickens and ducks along with tillable acres. Farming was Rays drive and passion which he has passed down that passion to his son and two grandchildren. He loved working side by side with his son. He enjoyed every spring getting ready for planting and calving season. He couldn’t wait to get out in that combine to harvest. His love for red tractors was evident by looking at his farm especially his first tractor a m farmall he still owned. In the winter he could spend hours in his tractor tending to his cattle or in his shop working on a project. Even later on when he couldn’t drive tractor you could find him in a pickup checking out what was going on in the field. He enjoyed his Sunday fishing trips and later on grew the love of gardening. He was a member of the Freidens Reformed Church of Tripp. Ray and Wilma resided on their farm until June 2014 where they moved to Springfield Assisted Living. Ray later moved to Tyndall Good Samaritan Center due to his failing health. Ray passed away February 23, 2018 in Tyndall at the age of 91 years.
Ray is survived by his wife Wilma of 61 years Tyndall, Son John (Barb) Hauck of Tyndall, two grandchildren Katie (Anthony) Zimmerman of Scotland, Matthew (Katie) Hauck of Tyndall, 2 great grandchildren Emy Jewell and Olivia Hauck of Tyndall, and one brother Jonas Hauck (Carol) of Tyndall, and sister in laws Maureen Vellek of Menno and Ester Weidenbach of Scotland.
He was greeted into heaven by his parents Samuel and Emelia Hauck, parents in law Rueben and Mary Weidenbach, 2 brothers Arthur Hauck (infancy), Robert Hauck, sister Albina Klasi, sister in law Marlene Hauck and 2 brother in laws Ray Klasi and Eldon Weidenbach.
