  [S927] Obituary. opeka (KS) Capital Journal, 26 Oct 1981 Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tibitts-Griffin-Highland Chapel for Mrs. Thelma M. Jay, 71, 5820 W. 22nd St., who died Saturday at a Topeka hospital after a long illness. She was born March 7, 1910, at Richland, Kan., the daughter of Jacob and Mary Ann Watson Scheetz. She had lived in Richland and Topeka nearly all her life. Mrs. Jay was a member of Eagles Lodge and Royal Order of Moose Lodge No. 555. Survivors include two sons, Vincent Jay, 531 NE 46th, and Marlin E. Jay, Lakewood, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Joyce DeWeese, 3820 SE Croco Road; two brothers, Jess Scheetz, Lakewood, Calif., and Myrl Scheetz, Orange Cove, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Crawford, Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Lenore Brady, Lakewood, Calif. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
