James S. 'Jim' Hotz
DAYTON - James S. "Jim" Hotz, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Walnut Creek Care Center in Dayton.
Jim was born April 24, 1919, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Edmund and Catherine (Kleecamp) Hotz.

Jim married his beloved wife, Julie Steinle Hotz of Delphos, Ohio, in 1949.
Together, they moved to Marion, Ohio, where Jim worked for Marion Power Shovel for 37 years.
For fun, they played bridge, had picnics and barbecues. Jim also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Jim served in the Pacific during World War II, enlisting first in the Army and then transferring to the Marine Corps. Jim graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie on March 22, 2003; two brothers, John and Edmund and sister, Marjory.
Surviving are his sons, Edward C. (Patsy) Hotz, Joseph M. Hotz and Matthew J. Hotz; his daughters, Mary R. Hotz (Bob Etchell), Catherine M. (Steve) White, Ann M. Hotz and Christine M. Hotz-Steward (Doug Steward); 14 grandchildren, Julie, Mark, Kathleen, Coleen, Emily, Michael, Ginny, Ryan, Matthew, Mia, Tessa, Joe, Tim and Sophie; three great-grandchildren, Maddie, Amiya and Peter; two sisters, Mary and Catherine.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St., Marion, and also 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church, 331 E. 2nd St., Delphos. Graveside inurnment rites will immediately follow the mass on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, make contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 231 N. Main St., Marion, OH 43302, or NAMI, P.O. Box 759155, Baltimore, MD 21275-9155. Sanner Funeral Home, West Carrollton is in care of arrangements.
