Rose was born on October 29, 1917 in St. Anthony, ND to Joseph and Margaret (Forster) Renner. She attended school at St Anthony and married Michael Gustin on June 7, 1937. She and Mike lived their entire life in the Mandan/Bismarck area except for a few years during World War II when Mike worked in the shipyards. Rose?s Catholic faith and her family were very important to her. Through the years she was active at St. Joseph?s, Spirit of Life and Corpus Christi. She was a member of Catholic Daughters for more than 65 years. The rosary was very important to her; she said it daily. Bringing family together was a priority whether locally or family scattered across the country. July 2017 brought her family, nieces and nephews together to celebrate her 100thbirthday, over 100 in attendance. She was known for her graciousness. Rose enjoyed sewing and cooking, teaching her daughters to do both very well. She loved to grow flowers and travel, taking trips to visit family. A highlight for her was a trip to Germany. Rose loved to play cards, especially bridge, and was listed frequently as a bridge winner in the Bismarck Tribune. She and Gerry Brakebush co-founded the ladies Powder Puff Marathon Bridge Group. Rose will be deeply missed by her sons Darrel (Kathy Rae), Delbert (Margo) and Russell (Peggy) and daughters Kathy Herr (Rick), Peggy Jo Emmel (Duane) and Michelle Gustin Jones along with 18 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Michael, her parents, Joseph and Margaret Renner, six brothers, John (Rose), Ralph (Helen), George (Hildegard), Frank (Clementine), Anton (Rose), Albert (Marion), and two sisters, Emelia (Nicholas) Gustin, Pauline (Adam) Gustin.
