CLOVERDALE -- Leona M. Horstman, 78, Cloverdale, died at 2:34 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in the Meadows of Kalida.
She was born Nov. 29, 1928, in Leipsic, the daughter of Lawrence and Francis (Seimet) Roof. She married Alfred Horstman, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Continental American Legion Auxiliary, Philips Quarter Century Club and St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale, and in 1993, she retired from Philips ECG, Ottawa.
Surviving are seven sons, Alfred (Sandy) of Ottawa, John (Shirley) of Continental, Stephen (Virginia), Gary (Rita) and Dale (Carolyn) of Cloverdale, Dennis (Tricia) of Glandorf and Philip (Debra), Lewis Center; two brothers, Leo (Diane) Roof of Leipsic and Wilbert (Mildred) Roof, Columbus Grove; two sisters, Mildred McGuire of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Marcella Hutchinson, Somerset, Ky.; and 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Leonard and Alfred Roof; her companion of 21 years, Jake Spitnale; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale, with Father Robert Kill officiating. Burial will be in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today in Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, with a scripture service at 4 p.m.
