Edna Buerkle
Edna Pearl Buerkle, 74, Yuma, Arizona, formerly of Mandan, North Dakota, died, Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Charity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Scott Bauman officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Edna was born June 4, 1937, in rural Logan County near Wishek, North Dakota, to Rienhold and Emma (Lippert) Werre, where she was raised and educated. On August 10, 1957, she married LeRoy C. Buerkle in Lamoure, North Dakota. Edna was a homemaker and mother who also was a daycare mother for seven years at Jamestown, North Dakota. She was a very caring and giving person. She touched many people?s lives. Once you met her, she was your friend for life. Her biggest love for North Dakota was during a great big North Dakota Blizzard when the family had to stay home. She would then cook her famous Knoephla soup.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and LeRoy Kramlich, Ypsilanti, North Dakota, Watena and Mark Wetsch, Mandan, North Dakota, Wanae and Arvid Witikko, Bismarck, North Dakota; one son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Brenda Buerkle, Mandan, North Dakota; seven grandchildren, Torie (Eric) Larson, Bismarck, Susan (Jimmy) Alexander, Conroe, Texas, Wachelle Witikko, Bismarck, Paden Wetsch, Kaylynn Wetsch, Raymond Buerkle, and Shane Buerkle, all of Mandan; Eric Bonogofsky, Bismarck; five great-grandchildren, Riley, Kyler, Brady, and Harley Larson, and Jaedyn Alexander.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond Werre.
