Rosemary Kuntz was born in Timmer on March 2, 1926, to Frank N. and Eva (Gerhardt) Kuntz. At an early age, she moved with her parents to her grandfather's farm near Fallon, where she was raised and educated. On Oct. 22, 1946, Rosemary was united in marriage to John G. Wetsch at St. Peter and Paul Church in Fallon. After spending several years farming in the area, the young couple and their two children moved to Mandan.
Rosemary began working as a seamstress, from her home in the early years, then at Toman Cleaners and PRS Tarp and continued her working for the Mandan Public School system.
Rosemary's faith was always evident in the way she lived her life. She was a beautiful example of a mother, demonstrating how family was central in her life. She was gracious, kind and generous with her time and talents, especially with family, but also for her community. She demonstrated hospitality while stressing the importance of presentation while serving her wonderful holiday meals. Rosemary accepted any challenge and would strive to always do her best. Utilizing her seamstress talents, she lovingly made a wool suit, only after consulting professional tailors, which her husband proudly wore for years.
The bears that she made from the many items saved over the years were treasured by many. It was a true example of being grateful and utilizing all of what we have, an inspiration that will continue to live on with her children and grandchildren. Her husband and children will lovingly recall how she intuitively knew information about them, if not, she would find out.
She is survived by her husband, John G., Mandan; two sons and daughters-in-law, David (Susan), Vancouver, BC, Canada, and Alan (Marybeth), Post Falls, Idaho; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Wayne) Kjar, Carpinteria, Calif., and Rosalie Marie Wetsch, Madison, Wis.; four grandchildren, Kerry Weissman, Sara Lindsay, Chad Wetsch and Rachel Rose Wetsch; and three great-grandchildren, Connor and Carson Wetsch and Miranda Lindsay; two brothers, Lawrence (Margaret), Rapid City, S.D., John (Cecelia), Mandan; two sisters-in-law, Mary Kuntz, Mandan, and Eleanore Kuntz, Philadelphia; her sisters, Anna Mary Beirerlein, Betty (Lawrence) Renner, Gloria (Martin) Blasy and Eva (Larry) Steiner, all of Mandan, Sister Kathleen Kuntz, Richardton, Jenny Wetsch, Rapid City, S.D., and Tilly (Chuck) Hensley, Kingman, Ariz.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, infant Nick, Jerome, Bill and Nick (Jennie and Carol) Kuntz; and her her great-grandchild, Kyler Weissman; her brothers-in-law, Lawrence Wetch and Mike Beirerlein.
