Danny Guy Edmiston, 59, of 236 Pond Road, Tiona, Pa. died Tuesday evening, November 17, 2009 at his residence after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born December 2, 1949 in Warren, Pa. to the late Foster and Dorothy Kemmer Edmiston. He has resided his entire life in Tiona. Danny was a 1967 graduate of Warren High School. He was enlisted with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4th Grade. Danny was employed for 42 years as a pattern maker in the layout dept. of the former Pittsburgh Demoines Steel and C.B. & I. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union. He was known to be hard worker, loved the outdoors, making intarsia (wood picture art) and giving it as a gift to his friends. He enjoyed carpentry work, home repairs, gardening, hunting, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He thoroughly loved his 12 year old dog Teddy.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marilyn J. Pollock Edmiston whom he married June 19, 1976 at St. Michael's Church, Sheffield, Pa., two children; Kurt M. Edmiston and his fiancee Jennifer Gurney of Odenton, Md., Sara C. Edmiston of Gettysburg, Pa., his mother-in-law, Anna Pollock of Sheffield, Pa., five siblings; Lynda McHenry and husband, David of Strattonville, Pa., Emory Edmiston and wife, Marian of Tiona, Pa., Ed Edmiston and companion, Esther Hanson of Warren, Pa., Leon Edmiston and wife, Nancy of Sheffield, Pa., Gregory Edmiston of Erie, Pa., 18 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, 4 great great nieces and nephews, several cousins also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Edmiston, father-in-law, Michael Pollock, a nephew, Christopher Edmiston, great nephew, Infant David Foster McHenry.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, Pa. on Thursday from 3 to 6 P.M. where a funeral service will be conducted Friday at 10:00 A.M. by Rev. Dan Wolboldt, Chaplain of the Warren State Hospital, officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Sheffield, Pa. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to place memorials may do so through the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Warren Public Library Association.
