CYPHERT, 76, of Clarion-Limestone School Road, died at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Laurel Brooke Landing Nursing Home, in Brookville. Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Limestone Township, he was the son of Edward P. and Emma G. Roofner Cyphert. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Cyphert was retired in 1989 from the maintenance department at Clarion-Limestone School after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates. Mr. Cyphert also belonged to the North American Hunting Club, the AARP and St. Nicholas Cemetery Association. He also was a life member of the American Legion of Strattanville, the VFW of Clarion and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Cyphert was married Oct. 8, 1951, to Louise I. Kemmer, who died Sept 22, 1995. Surving are two sons, Jason Cyphert and his wife Shirley and Rex Cyphert, all of Limestone Township; and two grandsons, Travis and Troy Cyphert of Limestone Township. He is also survived by four sisters, Rita Cyphert, and Jane Cyphert, both of Mayport, and Agnes Lynch and Mabel Verb, both of Erie, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Cyphert was preceded in death by a brother, John Cyphert and a sister, Angeline Cyphert. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9, today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion. Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday in St. Nicholas Church, Crates, with the Rev. Willliam Laska, pastor, preciding. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Church Cemetery, Crates.
