Myra A Haggerty Mead

Myra A. Mead, 80, formerly of RD 1, Clarendon, died at 4:35 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 1995, at the Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Mayburg, Forest County, PA, a daughter of the late John and Mary Disque Haggerty, and had been a Warren Area resident most of her life.
She was a 1932 graduate of Warren High School and had worked at the State Capital in the early 1930's. She had worked at Helen's Dress Shop in Sheffield from 1966 in until 1980. She was a member of Stoneham United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and played piano and was past president of the church Ladies Aid Group. She had been a past matron and patron of the Order of the Amaranth.
She is survived by her husband, Gail E. Mead, whom she married on Nov. 9, 1940, in Warren; and by two daughters, Mrs. John (Lenoa) Harrington II, Scottsdale, AZ; and Mrs. David (Susan) Cobb, Greensburg; a son, David G. Mead, Erie; two brothers, John Haggerty Jr., Warren and Dale Haggerty, Richmond VA; a sister Grace Campbell, Warren; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral sservice was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stoneham United Church with the Rev. Paul L. Thomson, pastor and the Rev. Ralph Romine, former pastor and retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial was in Warren County Memorial Park.
