Renate Wilkins, 79, went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 19, 2018 at her home in Lawton. She was born during WWII in war torn Pirmasens, Germany on June 29, 1938 to Ludwig and Johanna (Winnwa) Winkmann. She married Robert Bennett and they came to the United States in 1958. Renate met her second husband, William ?Early? Wilkins in California while he was stationed in the military there. The couple fell in love and was married on March 22, 1973 in Lawton where they made their home.
Renate was a happy homemaker who loved to cook. She worked as a cook at the Sandpiper Inn and Big Chef in Lawton. Customers would come by the two restaurants just to watch her cook breakfast. After several years as a cook she decided to go into business for herself as a housekeeper. She was a very efficient housekeeper and became high in demand for her services. She quickly developed an immense list of clients.
Renate loved to entertain and had many parties and social events at her home in the Wichitas. She was a real character, full of life, and never met a stranger. She had a warm heart and golden smile. She loved and was loved by everyone she met. She will surely be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband of the home, William ?Early? Wilkins, her two sons, Clinton Wilkins and Bobby Bennett of North Carolina, a daughter, Michelle Arjomandi of Colorado, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Renate was preceded in death by her parents.
Charitable donations may be made to Faith Hospice, 1925 W Gore Blvd. Ste. B, Lawton, OK 73501
