Oscar Dial Stinson "Pops" Cannon Birth: Sep. 4, 1888 Death: Feb. 23, 1939 Obituary taken from the Houston Chronicle of 24 February 1939: MORTUARY CANNON -- Oscar Dial (Pops) Cannon, 50, died at 6:48 p.m. Thursday at his home, 2218 Mary. Mr. Cannon had lived in Houston 39 years and for 15 years was connected with the Shepherd Laundries. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Celina Cannon; three sons, Otis, William and Joseph Cannon, and his mother, Mrs. Rose L. Cannon, all of Houston. Funeral services at 3 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. E. S. Hutcherson officiating. Burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
