  [S927] Obituary. Sr. Elizabeth Mary Sowalsky ALBANY Elizabeth Mary Sowalsky, RSCJ, 90 years, died at Kenwood Convent of the Sacred Heart on Saturday, March 20, 2004. Born in Sand Lake, N.Y., January 21, 1914 to Louise Wachtel and Stephen Sowalsky, Elizabeth was one of nine children. In 1934, she graduated from Averill Park Central High School and later went on to study and become certified as an LPN. She entered the Society of the Sacred Heart in September, 1939, making her final vows in Albany in July, 1948. During her years of generous ministry, Elizabeth served in Schools and Convents of the Sacred Heart in Washington DC, Philadelphia, Pa., Portsmouth, R.I. and Albany, N.Y. She returned to Albany in 1971 and, for the next 24 years, worked devotedly in the nursing department at Kenwood Convent and in ministry to the rural poor. Elizabeth retired at Kenwood Convent in 1995. She is survived by her sister, Grace Marinucci of Troy, N.Y. and several loving nieces and nephews. A Vigil will be held in Kenwood Convent Chapel on Monday, March 22 at 4:15 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23 in the Kenwood Convent Chapel. Interment in the Convent Cemetery.
