Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Julia A. Parker, age 90, of Clear Lake, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, SD. Fr. Brian Simon will celebrate. Mrs. Parker passed away at home in Clear Lake, SD on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Clear Lake, SD. Visitation will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, SD on Friday, November 24, 2006 from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and Rosary to follow. Houseman-Eng Funeral Home in Clear Lake is in charge of arrangements.
Julia Anna was born on November 4, 1916 in rural Altamont, SD to Fred and Rose (Wegman) Walter. She had 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Julia attended the Rush Lake District #44 Country School. Following her education she worked for various families in the area. Julia was united in marriage to Raymond Parker on July 22, 1942 in Clear Lake, SD. To this union 5 children were born. They lived in Aurora, IL for a short time then returned to farm near Clear Lake, SD. They lived and farmed there for over 60 years. On October 1, 2006 they moved into Clear Lake. Julia passed away at her home in Clear Lake on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the age of 90 years and 17 days. Julia was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she taught CCD, was active in the Altar Society and the prayer chain. Julia enjoyed gardening, flowers, dancing, playing pinochle, reading jokes and keeping a daily journal. She never complained and always thought of others first. Julia loved spending time with her entire family and also enjoyed her many trips in the motor home with them.
Julia is lovingly remembered by her husband, Raymond Parker, Clear Lake, SD, four children: Judy (Walter) Spiering, Brookings, SD, Dorothy (Ron) Skorczewski, Canby, MN, Joanne (Steve) VavRosky, Sandstone, MN and Don Parker, Little Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, four sisters: Helen (Harold) Kenyon, Gertrude Baer, Evelyn Meyer, Barbara (Barney) Ries , one brother, Ted Walter and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her one son, James Parker, 2 grandchildren, Patrick Spiering and Bradley Spiering, parents, two sisters, Kathryn Heimbuck and Anna Parker and two brothers, Bill Walter and Lawrence Walter.
