Ellen Jean "Jeanie" Heimbuck Birth: Mar. 19, 1960 Dell Rapids Minnehaha County South Dakota, USA Death: Feb. 14, 2010 Skibbereen County Cork, Ireland Ellen Jean Heimbuck was born on March 19, 1960 at Dell Rapids, SD, the daughter of Ed and Kathryn Heimbuck. She grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids. She graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1978. She attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelors degree in history and physical education. Ellen specialized in working with developmentally disabled adults. She worked at SESDAC, Inc. in Vermillion, SD. Currently Ellen was working at Coaction in Bantry, Ireland and attending St. Andrews University of Scotland. Ellen was a kind person who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed walking, gardening, reading and especially loved cats. Ellen passed away unexpectedly at Skibbereen, Ireland on Sunday, February 14, 2010. She was 49 and preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Carolyn (Tom) Wickert of Baltic and Rosemary (David) Frerk of Seattle, WA; her brother, Ivan (Myrna) Heimbuck of Gatesville, TX; her nieces and nephews, Bryan Bailey of Dell Rapids, Kathy (Randy) Reiners of Baltic, Paul Bailey of Dell Rapids, Desiree (Kyle) Dammer of Sioux Falls, Ivan Heimbuck Jr., John Heimbuck, Larry Heimbuck and Randy Heimbuck all of Gatesville, TX; her great nieces and nephews, Maggie Richter and Lance Richter both of Baltic, Jennifer Bailey of Colton, Kirsten Bailey of Dell Rapids, Shelby Bailey of Sherman, Kylee Bailey and Michael Bailey both of Colman and Paislee Dammer of Sioux Falls and a great-great niece, Madison Bailey of Colton. Ellen's memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Kahler Funeral Home. The family will be present at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday to greet friends and family.
