- 1910 Census - Joseph owned his own home at 2521 Essex Place, Cincinnati. He was a Brickwork Contractor. Joseph's both parents were born in Ireland. Joseph Otto Kopp was 26, single and living with his sister and brother-in-law at this address. He was employed as a cutter in a shirt factory. Obituary from The Cincinnati Times-Star, Monday, January 5, 1953, page 3:2: "Funeral services for Joseph J. McDermott, 88, 3241 Woodford Road, Pleasant Ridge, retired building contractor will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Church of the Navity, Ridge Avenue, Pleasant Ridge. McDermott, who had been engaged in the building construction business for more than 50 years prior to retirement 20 years ago died Saturday at his home. He was a charter member of Elder Council, Knights of Columbus and had been active in the development of the Cincinnati Builders Exchange. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Catherine Kopp McDermott, and two grandchildren. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, St. Bernard. The Gilligan funeral home, Woodburn and Lincoln Avenues is in charge."
