John P. Curran
John P. Curran, 77, of Linden Avenue, Moundsville, W. Va., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va.
He was born Oct. 18, 1927 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late Michael and Marie Ford Curran.
He was a World War II navy veteran, a retired employee from Kammer Plant, a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville and Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Leo Curran, a sister, Kathleen Foster and a brother-in-law, Robert Foster.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Glaser Curran, two daugh- ters, Lynne (Fred) Leach of Raleigh, N.C., and Anne (Clayton) Rhodes of Mansfield, a brother, James (Julie) Curran of Bellaire; two sisters-in-law, Marie Curran of Richmond, Va., and Marg Curran of Martins Ferry, and six grandchildren, Connor and Brendan Leach and Taylor, Curran, Evan and Will Rhodes.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, with Fr. Ronan Deegan, TOR as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire, where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
