Obituary for Ferdinand Hadowsky
Ferdinand Paul Hadowsky, 90 years old of Pana, Illinois passed away January 11, 2013.
Ferd lived his whole life in Pana. He was the Owner/Operator of Pana Appliance & Electric Service which was established 60 years ago and is still in operation. At that time, Ferd was the only certified electrician that could work on boilers for the greenhouses and schools.
Ferd was born February 2, 1922, of Rudolph & Agnes Kolesar Hadowsky. He attended Sacred Heart School and Pana High School. He worked Penwell Coal Mine and the Old Mine as well as Langleyville.
He married Beulah Koontz on June 27, 1942. She preceded him in death March 26, 1996.
Ferd enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing his music in which he entertained at the nursing homes and operated the sound system for the Veteran?s Day Memorial Service.
Ferd was a member of the Knights of Columbus in which he was a member of the 4th Degree; he was also a life-time Member of the Moose Club, POLK of A-Illinois Chapter (Polka Lovers Klub of America), St. Louis Metro Polka Club, Senior Citizens, Coal Creek Cabin Committee, and Dank Club. Ferd is a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church.
He is survived by
special companion Dora Jean Eck,
Daughters Patricia Clutter of Pana, Sharon Stortzum of Gays, Mary Rhodes of Pana,
Sons Steve ?Smoke? Hadowsky and Jan Hadowsky of Pana,
17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beulah, son Fred, daughter Susie, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and one great grandchild.
