Philip Guthmiller

Philip Guthmiller, 94, Jamestown, ND formerly of Pettibone, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Philip Guthmiller was born February 4, 1911 in Pettibone, North Dakota to Ludwig & Margaretta (Kammerer) Guthmiller. He joined the Civil Conservation Corp. in South Dakota. On August 17, 1933 he married Pauline Schick in rural Pettibone. Philip farmed until 1962 when he moved into Pettibone to operate a butcher shop from 1962 to 1968. Philip moved to Jamestown where he worked for Midwest Motors for seven years. He later worked for Jamestown Implement until his retirement. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Philip enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Philip is survived by three daughters, Irene Vogel of Jamestown, Esther (Jenner) Koenig of Jamestown, and Viola Hartzell of Lindsborg, KS; one son, Donald (Delilah) Guthmiller of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and five sisters-in-law, Bertha Schick of Jamestown, Harriet Schick of Jamestown, Linda Schick of Pettibone, Dora Guthmiller of Jamestown, and Violet Guthmiller of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his wife; 6 sisters and 4 brothers, parents and one son-in-law.
Funeral Service: 1:30PM, Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Tom Eckstein officiating.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 9:00AM to 8:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:30PM, Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
