Charles E. Callhan
HIGHLAND, Calif. ? Mr. Charles E. "Buddy" Callhan, 73, formerly of Morris, recently of Highland, Calif., passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, in California.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Callahan Sr.; his mother, Evelyn E. (Yoesle) Callahan; and one sister, Margaret Jean Callahan.
Survivors include his wife, Merle, of Highland, Calif., and his son, Michael, of Laguna Beach, Calif.; one brother, Daniel and his wife, Jo Ann Callahan, of Morris; one niece, Karen Doughan, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two nephews, Kevin Michael of Morris and Kenneth James of The Colony, Texas; three great-nieces and one great-great-niece.
Charles was educated in Morris, where he attended grade school and high school. He obtained his degree in police science and received his bachelor's degree in administration of justice. He graduated FBI National Academy in 1974 in the state of California.
He was employed with the San Bernardino Sheriffs for 20 years, attaining the rank of Captain of Detectives with the department. He retired in 1980 and started his own business. He was a private investigator, licensed in both California and Nevada.
Charles was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines in 1954 and honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force in 1959.
Private services were held in Highland, Calif.
