Stephen G. Bulfer

Stephen G. Bulfer, 61, of Mendota died Dec. 23, 2011 at Mendota Community Hospital.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mendota with Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Mr. Bulfer was born Oct. 7, 1950 in Amboy to Gilbert Dick and Mary Rita (Fitzgerald) Bulfer. He married Karen Halbmaier on Aug. 30, 1985.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Brittany Bulfer of Marion and Briana Bulfer of Mendota; four sons, Tony Bulfer, Timothy Bulfer and Thomas (Heidi) Bulfer, all of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kyle Bulfer of Wheaton; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul (Pam) Bulfer of St. Peters, Mo. and Jay (Vicky) Bulfer of Amboy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry; and two brothers, Tim and Tom.
Mr. Bulfer was a graduate of Amboy High School and was employed as a truck driver for 38 years. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and liked to collect John Deere tractors. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
