SUBLETTE-- Gilbert "Dick" Bulfer, 77, of 704 W. Santee St., Sublette died Oct. 3, 1998 in Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sublette with the Rev. Michael Monclova officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Sublette.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota.
Mr. Bulfer was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Sublette Township to Andrew and Nancy (Turner) Bulfer. He married Mary Rita Fitzgerald on March 2, 1946, in Mendota. She died June 4, 1997.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army and then was employed by Del Monte Corp. until his retirement.
He is survived by three sons, Paul (Pam) of Mendota; Stephen (Karen) of West Brooklyn and Jay (Vickie) of Sublette; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Lester of Mendota and Dennis of Dixon; three sisters, Mary (Louie) Santo of Rockford, Ellen (Don) Jones of Mendota and Dorothy (Ed) Sreenan of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
