Briggs, Robert Alvin Briggs

Services for Robert Alvin Briggs, Denver, were Monday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Crown Hill.
Briggs, 73, died Thursday at Presbyterian Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 23, 1909, in Greeley, and was reared and educated there. His first wife, the form Leta Eidson, died in 1954. In 1966 he was married to Lettie Gregory Cooke in Denver. Briggs was employed by Morey Mercantile Co. and National Jewish Hospital. After his retirement in 1977 he was a volunteer at the Arthritis Craft Shop where he taught chair caning. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 1.
He is survived by his wife; six daughters, Arlene Weaver, Texas, Dorothy Jackson, Hotchkiss, Ruth Schubert, Georgia, Mary Ann Straw, San Jose, Calif., and Elsie Elliott and Evelyn Harvey, both of Westminster; two sons, Robert A. Jr., Westminster, and Albert, Littleton; five stepdaughters, Betty Cudsworth, Estes Park, Leona VanCleef, Castle Rock, Myra Pearson, Kansas, Marlene Cialone, New Jersey, and Diane Burkland, Denver; four brothers, Ray, Arizona, Clarence, Greeley, Lloyd, Monterey, Calif., and George, Casper, Wyo.; three sisters, Virginia Lantz, Greeley, Opal Briggs, Los Angeles, and Faye Henneck, Greeley; 44 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
