George was born in Pawtucket RI, the first son of George Frederic Weaton Sr and Gertrude Lumley Crowell. At the time, his father was a powerplant engineer for Coats and Co. The family grew, moving from Pawtucket to Seekonk, to the Oranges in NJ, to Rivermines MO, and finally to Monaca PA, where both parents died.
George Weaton married 1st Wylea Jane Stuckrath, daughter of Victor and Martha Stuckrath of Rochester PA. After her death, he married 2nd wife Lois Irene Landis Nordin, widow of Floyd Nordin in 1981, St. Louis Park MN.
A "hard rock" mining engineer, he worked in coal, copper, lead, zinc, uranium, gold, silver and iron, living in Peru, Pennsylvania, Missouri and other spots, finally settling in 1960 in St. Louis Park MN, where he held a position at the University of Minnesota which varied from serving as the state's expert in taconite taxation cases to working with graduate students to surveying.
He was deeply devoted to both wives and daughters..and of course to golf.
