Eveline Grace (Hartling) Mattern (Acie) Formerly of Economy Eveline Grace (Hartling) Mattern (Acie), age 100, formerly of Economy, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople, Pa. She was born September 29, 1918, to the late John and Bertha Hartling. Before marriage, she was a secretary for attorneys in Ambridge. She later worked and retired from Westinghouse, Beaver. She married Richard L. Mattern on October 4, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1971. She loved to travel, have family picnics, and visit with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed many years of volunteer work at Sewickley Hospital. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Surviving are three sons, Richard H. Mattern, wife Peg; Raymond L. Mattern, wife Dollie of Economy, and Roy A. Mattern of Zelienople, formerly of Economy, and one daughter, Ruth A. McCausland, husband John of Jamestown, Pa. She had eight granddaughters, 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Eveline was also preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Hartling and Ethel McPeck. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2 to 8 p.m. at POLAND FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 First Ave., Conway, with funeral services on Thursday, August 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roxie Costanza officiating. Interment will be at Rehoboth Cemetery in Economy. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Passavant Retirement Community or a charity of your choice.
