Burkhart, 61, who had practiced medicine more than 30 years died at 12:30 this afternoon in Cleveland Clinic where he had gone two weeks ago for a physical checkup.Although in failing health, he had continued his practice until he went to Cleveland and had been improving under treatment until Monday when he suddenly developed a for the worse.Dr. Burkhart graduated from Ohio State University and came here to practice soon after completing his internship. He was a member of several medical groups and was also active in community affairs.Surviving in addition to his widow, the former Grace Gillespie, are a son, Dr. Charles Burkhart who is now serving his internship in a Philadelphia hospital, three daughters, Miss Charlotte of the home, Mrs. Joan Moffett in Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. Caroline Hollis of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, two brothers, Walter of Athens, Ga., and Clyde of Somerset, three sisters, Mrs. Freda Bracy of this community, Mrs. Ray Foreaker of Gary, Ind. and Mrs. Elizabeth Wilkinson of Jacksonville, Fla.The body was brought to the Schumacher funeral home here tonight.
