A celebration of life for Darci Jean Weydeveld was held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at her family's home of 6628 W Riverside Drive in Casper. A private viewing was held at Bustard's Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Cremation has taken place.
Darci's life journey ended peacefully on July 8, 2009. She was born on April 29, 1969 in Elgin, North Dakota to Anselm "AJ" Schlosser and Kathleen "Kay" Boehm Schlosser. She was the youngest of nine children. She began her school career in Rock Springs where she discovered her passion and talent for music. Her love of music was such a part of her life's journey and spirit that it lead her to become a music educator and professional musician. She earned her Music Education Teaching degree, graduating the same day with her mother, Kay, in Laramie in 1992. She lived in Mott, North Dakota, Grants, New Mexico, Rock Springs, Laramie, Wright, Gillette, Newcastle, Buffalo, Greybull, Kodiak Island, Alaska and finally to Casper. Her passion for music helped her touch the lives of countless students, parents, friends and relatives. She worked as a professional musician with the Wyoming Symphony, Powder River Orchestra and Casper Community Band. She commuted for many years from points beyond, so she could participate and fine tune her craft. She learned to master many instruments as she taught music. She and her husband shared their love of music with their children and their communities. Together they would play at various establishments. She taught music for more than 10 years and played for more than 30 years.
Darci married Christopher Weydeveld on February 22, 1997 in Gillette. Together they had two children Ahna and Gibson. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter. She was always supportive of her family's various activities. Darci's life led her to many adventures in many locations. She was always ready to try some new activity. Darci's quick wit, gentle and joyous spirit, infectious laugh will be missed by many loving family members and friends.
Darci leaves behind her husband of 12 years, Chris, and two children Ahna age 11 and Gibson age 10. She will also be sadly missed by her mother, Kathleen, Kay, three brothers: J. Alan Schlosser, Lyle and wife Aimme and two daughters, Mykayla and MyKenzie and brother Patrick and two children Aarron and Amanda. She was loved and appreciated and will also be greatly missed by her four sisters: Sylvia Sam and husband Dan Esquibel and two sons, Adam and Emilio; Kelly and Kent Porenta, Tracy and Cal Potter and children Neil, Michael and Desiree Potter, and Neil and Cali Schmidt; Carmen and Dale Abbott and daughter Melissa. She left several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews
and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. Darci also leaves behind her parents-in-laws, Maggie and Carter, Corky Weydeveld, brother-in-law, Tim and his wife Elky and their children, Ryan and Nick and several included relatives.
Darci's gift of teaching, led her to change the lives of many women. Darci was loved and appreciated by her home business sisters, customers and fellow musicians.
