  [S927] Obituary. WOODSFIELD Byron E. Rice, 67, of Woodsfield, died Monday (Dec. 12, 2005) at his home. He was born June 22, 1938, in Lewisville, son of the late Charles LeRoy Roy and Mildred Lenore Foehrenbach Rice. Mr. Rice was former owner of the former Western Auto Store, and a former owner of Rices Chevrolet, both in Woodsfield. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of VFW Post 5303 and Loyal Order of the Moose 2247, both in Woodsfield. He was an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Roger Rice. He leaves his wife, Rose M. Slivinski Rice of the home; two daughters, Shari (Brad) Nixon and Susie (Dave) Prickett, both of Woodsfield; a son, Jeffrey Byron Rice of Phoenix, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren, Nick and Kyle Jorris, Torey and Asia Prickett, Curtis, Bradford, Chrissy and Courtney Nixon. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville. Memorial and military services will be held at the convenience of the family.
