  [S927] Obituary. RITTMAN Willard "Merle" Burkhart, 75, of Rittman, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Regency Hospital of Akron in Barberton. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman with the Rev. Dr. J.A. Burton and the Rev. Don Resecker officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery. He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Barnesville to Henry and Anna (Harper) Burkhart and lived in Rittman since 1948. He was formerly employed at the Packaging Corporation of America in Rittman. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman. Surviving are his wife, Patricia "Pat" (Davis) Burkhart; sons, Dennis (Liz) Burkhart of Doylestown, and Thomas (Lisa) Burkhart of Akron; daughter, Sherri (Greg) Hatch of Manchester; stepsons, Rod (Becki) Watson of Copley, and Larry (Linda) Davis of Clinton; stepdaughters, Cindy (Bill) Pelfrey of Creston, Myra (Robert) Baird of Seneca, and Bonnie (Don) Resecker of Berlin Heights; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
