Dauenhauer of Perrydale will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Amity United Methodist Church. The Revs. Ruth Marsh and Jeff Crippen will officiate. Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville. Arrangements are under the direction of Macy & Son Funeral Directors. The funeral home will be open for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Mr. Dauenhauer died Jan. 1, 2002, in his daughter's home in McMinnville. He was 97. Born Nov. 30, 1904, in Mott, N.D., he was the son of Jacob and Barbara Wolf Dauenhauer. His family moved to Sasketchewan, Canada, in 1912. He came to Oregon in 1920, living first in Shaw, then moving to Arlee in 1927. He and Carmen Crippen were married June 9, 1935, in McMinnville. The Dauenhauers moved to Ballston in 1937. Mr. Dauenhauer owned and operated the Ballston Store and post office from 1941 to 1945. In 1945, Mr. Dauenhauer bought his farm near Perrydale. He ran a dairy and raised row crops and grains. He loved to farm and spend time with his family. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Brian of McMinnville; a daughter-in-law, Lila Dauenhauer of Perrydale; two sisters, Minnie Helt of Salem and Anna Folk of Castro, Calif.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchidlren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992; a son, John; three brothers, Xavier, Stanley and Christian Dauenhauer; and six sisters, Barbara Schlack, Frances Vollman, Lena Metzger, Mary Traglio, Julia Hazen and Rose Burdick. Memorial contributions may be made to Health Dynamics Hospice, Mid-Valley Rehab or Amity United Methodist Church in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
