He was born in Rumbach, Pfalz Bearne, Germany, in 1831. In 1835 his parents removed to this country and located in Summit township, this county. In 1856 Mr. Rose married Miss M. E. John H. Rose, 79, former Waterloo painter, who was living at the Black Hawk county home, died early Sunday monring at the Iowa state hospital, Independence, Ia., as a result of a fall suffered Wednesday at the county home when he fell from his chair onto a cement floor.
He was taken to Sartori hospital, Cedar Falls, Wednesday, where he remained until Saturday morning, when he was taken to Independence. John Rose was born June 23, 1865, in Ohio, and formerly resided at 639 Kern street, Waterloo, before entering the home July 1, 1941.
A sister, Mrs. Lottie Saville, of Denver, Colo. survives him. The body is at Peterson Brothers funeral home.
