Obituary for Victor Ubelhor
Victor J. Ubelhor, 85, of Evansville, passed away, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1931 to the late Edward and Rosaline (Boeglin) Ubelhor.
Victor retired from Alcoa Corporation after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard for 20 years, serving in the 163rd Field Artillery attaining the rank of Captain. He was a former charter member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was currently a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He and his wife Joan, received the Bruté Society Award for their years of dedicated service. He was instrumental in forming the Curculio movement in Evansville.
Victor is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Ubelhor (Sasse) of Evansville; sons, Anthony Ubelhor of Pasco, WA, J. Stephen Ubelhor (Theresa), Tom Ubelhor (Jennifer), and Ted Ubelhor (Amy) all of Evansville; grandchildren, David (Nicole), Anna, Mark, Mary, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Eli, and Emma Ubelhor; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Marian Ubelhor; sister, Irma Schmitt of Newburgh, Lynn Ubelhor and Dolores Mounts both of Evansville, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Andrew and brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 7:00p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville with a memorial service to be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, October 24, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3010 E. Chandler Ave., Evansville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church with Father Alex Zenthoefer, Father Ted Tempel, and Monsignor Kenneth Knapp officiating.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
