Mehlhaff, 82, of Aberdeen will be 11:00am Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Fr. J. Joseph Holzhauser will be officiating. Harold's wishes were to be cremated and burial of his cremated remains will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Liturgical wake service will be 7:00pm Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the mortuary. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Friends may sign his online guest book at the bottom of the page. Harold passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Harold J. Mehlhaff was born May 19, 1927 to Julius and Katherine (Thurn) Mehlhaff at Hillsview, SD were he was raised and attended school. Harold married Tillie Binfet June 14, 1949 at Aberdeen. Harold was a truck driver for Hyman Freight Ways in Aberdeen for many years. He retired in 1986 after working there for 31 years. Harold was a member of St. Mary's Church and served as a church usher for many years. Harold enjoyed playing cards, working crossword puzzles, hauling hay bales in the fall and playing horseshoes with his son-in-laws. Harold is survived by his wife, Tillie of Aberdeen, one son, David (Carolyn) Mehlhoff of Ft. Pierre, SD, four daughters, Kathy (Micheal) Buechler of Aberdeen, Marsha Mehlhaff of Watertown, SD, Mary (Karley) Hoffman of Aberdeen and Anne (Jim) Leverton of Canon Falls, MN, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a granddaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Harold's grandchildren.
