Otto P. Kaiser, 84, of Strasburg passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Park Village Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Born on December 30, 1924 in Woodsfield, Ohio he was the son of the late Henry and Rena Hughes Kaiser. He married his wife, Lillian Kahrig on April 18, 1959. Together they had four children. Otto was a brickyard worker for over 50 years. He ended his career with the Belden Brick Company in Strasburg where he worked as a truck driver.
He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Bolivar. He truly enjoyed gardening and tending to his flowers.
In addition to his wife, Lillian, he will be sadly missed by his three daughters; Bonnie Clemens of Texas, Rose (husband, Mike) Gintz of Mineral City, and Nancy Miller of Bolivar; his son, Tim Kaiser of Bolivar and Tim's girlfriend, Wendy Blake of Dover; three sisters, Margie Ankrom of Bolivar, Ruth Rodgers of Navarre, and Rosemary Kaiser of Woodsfield, Ohio; his brother, Jim (wife, Vera) Kaiser of Strasburg; four grandchildren, Dustin Billiter, Holly (husband, Michael) Valot, Steven Gintz and Katelynn Miller; as well as his great granddaughter, Emma Valot.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Burt Kaiser; and two sisters, Justine O'Brien and Dorothy Piatt.
A celebration of Otto's life will take place at the Toland Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00 with Pastor Carol Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 5-8 pm.
