Keller Funeral Service
Wendelin Keller, who died Tuesday morning, March 4, from an accidental gunshot wound, received on his farm north of Havre, was buried in the Calvary cemetery Friday morning, following services at St. Jude Thaddeus church.
Pallbearers were Henry Gilmore, Gervin Yeon, Bob Lucke, Mike Mullen, Tom Minnaugh, and Phil Jestrab.
Wendelin Keller had reached the age of 34 years last October. He was unmarried and for the past ten years had lived on his farm 24 miles northwest of Havre, about 14 miles from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keller.
Keller is believed to have started for the home of a neighbor Tuesday morning, riding horseback and carrying a shotgun. His body was found about 100 feet from his gun, which lay discharged under a wire fence. It is believed the gun had been discharged either while Keller was walking along the fence, or crawling through it, for his horse was found tied about 100 yards away. He had evidently dragged himself in the direction of his horse after vainly trying to stop the blood from the wound in the abdomen.
The surviving relatives include his mother and father, his brothers, Andrew, Francis, William, Frank, Adam, and Julius Keller, all residing in the county; and Mary, Amelia, Barbara and Helen Keller, the first named a sister in the Alliance Nebraska convent, the other three residing in Hill County; Caroline Keller of Seattle; and Mrs. Paul J. Jacoby of Hill county. The deceased had many friends and was one of the most respected men in his community.
