Clifton Aaron "Cliff" Ketterling, 70 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Cliff was born February 2, 1941 at Wishek, North Dakota, the third of four children born to Gottlieb G. and Pauline (Sayler) Ketterling.
Cliff received his education at a country school, the Frieda District #4 School in McIntosh County, north of Zeeland, North Dakota. He was baptized in the St. Andrews Lutheran Church at Zeeland as an infant. Cliff began his confirmation classes in the German Language, and later completed his confirmation in the English Language.
At a young age, Cliff had an interest in carpentry which would lead to a lifelong career and passion as a Skilled Contractor and Cabinet Maker. In 1970, Cliff settled to Holdrege from Loveland, Colorado and continued to reside in Holdrege where he founded Country Corner Woodcrafts east of town.
On February 14, 1971 he was united in marriage to Sarah Boschee. Later in years, she would precede him in death. Cliff loved to fish, play baseball in his younger years with his older brothers, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved to listen to Gospel Music. His true passion for life, was his work, his family and his friends. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege.
Besides his parents and his wife, Sarah, Cliff was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond.
Cliff leaves to mourn his passing his brother, Roland Ketterling and his wife, Lorraine of Bismarck, ND; sister, Thelma George and her husband, Jack of Loveland, CO; sister-in-law, Vivian Ketterling of Mandan, ND; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rogene Harris of Holdrege.
Interment was in the St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery, Zeeland, North Dakota.

Funeral Services for Clifton A. “Cliff” Ketterling will be conducted from the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Snider, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery at Zeeland, North Dakota.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later date.
