Kollmeier, Melinda Beloved mother and wife, Melinda Marie Kollmeier, 50, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. A native of Wayland, NY and graduate of Hornell High School and Bryant and Stratton School of Business, Melinda became a personal trainer and owned South Grand Prairie Fitness. She later become an agent with New York Life Insurance and then built a successful business as an independent insurance agent, specializing in senior care. She is predeceased by grandparents, Wilhemina and Roy Jerome, Melba and Charles Henchen and stepbrother Todd Henchen. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Kollmeier and sons Samuel Kollmeier and Brandon Mike; parents, Judy Peapples and Donald and Irene Henchen; sisters, Marcy Benvenuto (Peter) and Amy Henchen; brothers Michael Henchen (Joan) and Ryan (Melissa); sisters-in-law Carolyn and Janet Kollmeier; brother-in-law Gary Kollmeier, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and several very dear friends. Visitation with the family will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 820 E. Wintergreen Rd, Cedar Hill, TX, 75104 (www.colonialhills.org). Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Friday, April 8, at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Reception will follow at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
