Dick , Thella Lee Childs , 85, of the Summit Villa Care Center in Tallmadge (formerly of Lewisville, Ohio), died at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2000, at the center. She was born July 15, 1914, in Walthall, Miss., a daughter of the late Everett and Lula Edison Holmes. She was a homemaker, and a member of thein Woodsfield, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harol Childs; her second husband, Joseph Dick; sons, Kenneth Childs and Keith Childs; sisters, Marie Vaughn and Ruby Holmes; brothers, Ralph Holmes and L.B. Holmes; and grandson, John Childs.
Surviving are son, Wayne Childs and his wife, Ann, of Akron; daughter, Beverly McCarthy and her husband, Larry, of Akron; stepdaughter, Thelma Baker of Woodsfield, Ohio; stepsons, Bernard Dick of Woodsfield, Cletus Dick of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Paul Dick of Caldwell, Ohio; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren, several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Mogadore Baptist Church, 3750 Albrecht Ave., Mogadore, from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, with Pastor Perry Chronister and Pastor Robert Seymour officiating.
