Their father was Walter Carlton Bartmess, mother, Clara Nalma Casteel. Gerald was the first born son of Clara Nalma and Walter. Dean was their second child, born in 1926. He is now 86 years and my father. Nalma and Walter divorced when my dad was about 3 years old. Nalma married E.J. Adamson. Emil's first wife, Helen Bartlett passed away. They had three children, Ruth, Robert and Paul. My father and Jerry grew up with Emil's children, together on a farm north of Marietta, Ohio. Walter married Thelma and they had children too.
