Birth: Aug. 21, 1932 Saint Anthony Morton County North Dakota, USA Death: Jul. 8, 2009 Bismarck Burleigh County North Dakota, USA Rosemary Leingang, 76, Mandan, died July 8, 2009, at Medcenter One, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Women of the Moose Ritual at 6:30 p.m. followed by a parish rosary/vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Rosemary was born Aug. 21, 1932, near St. Anthony to Joe and Mary (Wetsch) Eckroth. She attended a one room school house near Shields and fondly recalls the sled rides covered in hay in the winters and eventful buggy rides in the spring as her father took them to school. Saturday nights were for socializing, usually a dance held somewhere with family and friends. It was at one of these dances she met Edward Leingang and they were married on Oct. 23, 1951, in Solen. After raising her family, Rosemary found a job in town. She enjoyed working with people and her job as a banquet waitress led her to meet and visit with many. She worked at the Mandan Elks and Mandan Country Club, then for 32 years at the Seven Seas. Named Employee of the Month in February 1992, she retired in 2004. Ed and Rosemary enjoyed traveling to many places together. Those who knew her will remember her as fun and friendly with a great sense of humor and love for her family and friends. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, who died in 1995; her parents; her brothers, Louie and Pete Eckroth; and brother-in-law, Ferdinand Blotsky.
