Gene Wetch, 67, Mandan, died Nov. 9, 2010, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Lee Herberg officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, with military honors by the Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
Gene Victor Wetch was born Sept. 28, 1943, in Bismarck, the son of Henry Sr. and Myrtle (Rambow) Wetch. Raised and educated in Mandan, he served with the U.S. Army from December 1969 until September 1971. He was a dealer in Las Vegas casinos for over 30 years.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Angela Ainsworth, Fort Collins, Colo., and her children, Zachary, Kristen, Brandon and Spencer Ainsworth; his sons, Gene Wetch, Fort Collins, and his son, Christopher Taulman, and Jesse (Carrie) Wetch, Fort Collins, and their children, Jesse Jr., Justin and Michaela Wetch; eight grandchildren; his sisters, LaVerne (Harold) Haugen, Mandan, Angie (Richard) Rohr, Dickinson, Gwen Wenger, Mandan, Linda (Gary) Himmelspach, Marshall, Minn., and Tammie (Jack) Anderson, Mandan; and his brothers, Alden, Rapid City, S.D., Henry Jr., Mandan, and Floyd, San Diego.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eddie and Clarence; and his sisters, Jennie Ferderer, Vi Rohr and Debbie Roade.
