Harold Ereth
REEDSPORT - A memorial Mass will be held today, Dec. 31, for Harold Duaine Ereth of Reedsport, who died Dec. 27 at the age of 64. His family chose not to list the cause of death.
Ereth was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Mandan, N.D., to Frank and Julia Wetch Ereth. He married Lois Polk in Billings, Mont., on May 18, 1982.
He worked in the oil industry at the Williston Basin. He worked in North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Ereth enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, animals and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Jewel Wing of Reedsport; four sons, Mark Ereth of Rochester, Minn., Louis Polk and Don Baney, both of Shelby, Mont., and Jim Polk of Frenchtown, Mont.; nine daughters, Carmaine Ternes of Emporia, Kan., Julie Ereth of Fargo, N.D., Pamela Sayler of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Dianne Ereth of Billings, Jennifer McNamara of Grenora, N.D., Carmen Wyant of Swan Lake, Mont., Cheri Robertson of Conrad, Mont., Debbie McKenzie of Trenton, N.D., and Lucy Griffith of Odessa, Texas; a brother, Frank Jr. of Mandan; four sisters, Sheila Graf of Portland, Margo Ereth of San Antonio, Bonnie Wahl of Reedsport and Judith Martin of Bismarck, N.D.; 31 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Twin sons, Michael and Frankie, and a grandchild, Leslie Ereth, died previously.
Today's service will be at 11 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church in Reedsport. Burial will be at a later date in Mandan. Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
