Edith Stroklund ? 1921 - 2010Edith Stroklund, 89, Kenmare, ND, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in a Kenmare Hospital.
Edith M. McIntosh was born August 16, 1921, a daughter of John and Annie (Stroklund) McIntosh, on the family farm located in Carbondale Township of Ward County, ND. She was raised and educated in Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School.
Edith married Alvin Stroklund September 7, 1939, in Plentywood, MT. They made their home on a farm located in Baden Township of Ward Country, near Kenmare, ND. Together they farmed and raised cattle.
Alvin passed away September 22, 1990. Following the death of her husband, she continued to reside on the farm until September of 2005, when she moved into Kenmare.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Kenmare.
Edith loved her birds and participated in many winter bird counts in the Kenmare area. She was an avid gardener and participated in many Kenmare Garden Club events. She loved playing cards with her local card group, and had spent many hours of her life quilting many years until she lost her eyesight.
Surviving family includes: sister, Myrtle (Ed) Foster, Rochester, MN; brother-in-law, Harold (Laverna) Stroklund, Minot; and numerous nieces, and nephews.Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; three infant brothers; an infant sister; and brothers, Robert, Allen, and Kenneth McIntosh; Funeral: Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Donnybrook.Interment: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND, in the spring of 2011.Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Prayer Service: Sunday at 7 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
