Ruby I. Hefling
Ruby Irene Hefling, 79, of Willows, formerly of Gihon Unity Place, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002. She was born in Belleville, W.Va., Jan. 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Hence and Maggie Buffington.
She was retired from Dils Brothers Department Store after nearly 30 years and was a member of Calvary Memorial Church. She loved to bowl at Ren-Dor Lanes and was a member of the 1978 state women's championship team. She was also a talented seamstress.
She is survived by one sister, Iva Tucker of Parkersburg. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whom will be eternally missed by her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Tony Westerdahl and their three daughters, Kristee Johnson and husband Lee, and Jessie Westerdahl, all of Parkersburg, and Angela Buck and her husband, Chris of Lexington, Ky.; and two loving great-grandchildren, Zachary Smith of Lexington, Ky., and Brody Johnson of Parkersburg.
She is also survived by a daughter, Sandy Vanfossen and husband, Clayton of Belpre; and granddaughter, Michelle Enoch and her husband, Rob of Beverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Junior Hefling; and three brothers, George, Carl and Raymond Buffington.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Lee Hammond officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today.
