- Josephine Wiesen
Josephine "Sis" Wiesen, nee White, 84, of Belleville, IL, died Sunday morning, June 18, 2006, at Calvin Johnson Nursing Home, Belleville, IL. Mrs. Wiesen was born March 20, 1922, in Centerville Station, St. Clair County, IL, the youngest child of Abraham and Mary, nee Snyder, White. After attending trade school, she was a bookkeeper at Dixie Mills and, later, an office worker at Hunter Packing Company, both in East St. Louis, IL. She retired from Scott Air Force Base, where she was a keypunch operator. Sis enjoyed raising Manchester dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frank; sisters, Mary (Eugene) Cullen, Minnie (Walter) Taake, and Clara (Louis) Steinhardt; and nephews and nieces-in-law, Leonard Cullen, Bernard and Vonieta Cullen, Jacqueline (Edward) Cullen, Louis and Bernice Steinhardt, Thomas Steinhardt, and Roger White. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Edward J. and Dorothy L. White of Fairview Heights, IL; a nephew, Edward T. Cullen of Glen Carbon, IL; three nieces, Veronica Cullen (John) Beardsmore of Ballwin, MO, Dorothy Taake of Belleville, IL, and Clara Lee Steinhardt (Norman) Kimbrough of Georgetown, TX; two nieces-in-law, Marilyn (Thomas) Steinhardt of Temple, TX, and Lucille (Leonard) Cullen of Columbia, IL; and great-nieces and great-nephews and their children. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Belleville Area, 1301 South 11th St., Belleville, IL 62220, or to a hospice or charity of the donor's choice. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.Interment will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
