  [S927] Obituary. Betty N. Welch 1938-2006 Sunday, December 24, 2006 ALTONA - Betty N. Welch, 68, Altona, died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 21, 2006) at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. She was born July 28, 1938, in Lynn Center, the daughter of Herbert and Loretta Kustus Blodgett. She married James L. Welch on April 11, 1958, in Coal Creek Church, Little York. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Michael (and Teresa) Welch and Patrick (and Michelle) Welch, both of Altona; three daughters, Jama (and John) Lindahl, Normal, Tara (and Todd) Landon, Oneida, and Sonrisa (and Stephen) Nolan, Altona; two brothers, Rodney (and Elsie) Blodgett, Yates City, and Harold(and Shirley) Blodgett, Abingdon; two sisters, Marion Purchase, Elmwood, and Barbara (and Mike) Pearson, Monmouth; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Mary Alice Blodgett. She was reared and educated in Yates City and graduated from Little York High School. She completed nurse's training at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg. She was a registered nurse at Cottage Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital until 1966. She was a homemaker. She operated an upholstery shop in her home from the early 1980s until 2003. Cremation will be accorded. Burial will be later.
