He was born Dec. 7, 1916, in Matamoras to Edward and Sarah Muth Burkhart. He had lived most of his life in the Marietta area. He was a self-employed carpenter and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sisters, Alma and Beatrice, both of Marietta. Mass of Christian burial was Wednesday in St. Marys Catholic Church with Monsignor Edward Kakascik as celebrant. Burial was in St. Marys Catholic cemetery.
